Introduction

At iMideo, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our website and mobile application, and informs you of your privacy rights.

iMideo is an AI-powered media creation platform offering features such as video generation, face and body transformation, audio enhancement, and more. Because our service may process images and videos of real people, we take data handling with the utmost seriousness.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

  • Identity & Contact Data: Name and email address provided during sign-up (including via Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In).
  • Media Data: Images and videos you voluntarily upload to use our AI generation features. See "Media Processing" below for full details.
  • Technical Data: IP address, device type, operating system, and app version for service provision and security.
  • Usage Data: How you interact with features, credit consumption, and task history.
  • Payment Data: Subscription and purchase information processed via Stripe (web) or Apple App Store / RevenueCat (iOS app). We do not store payment card numbers.

Media Processing

Purpose: Images and videos you upload are used solely to perform the AI generation task you requested. They are transmitted to our AI processing servers, processed, and the result is returned to you.

No biometric identification: We do not use your uploaded media for facial recognition, identity verification, or any form of biometric profiling. Media files are processed as raw data for creative AI transformation only.

Retention: Uploaded source files are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours of task completion. Generated result files are retained based on your active plan: free-tier results may be deleted after 24 hours, and paid-tier results are retained for the duration of your active subscription. We may also delete result files for storage management with reasonable notice. All remaining results are removed when your account is permanently deleted (30 days after deactivation).

No third-party sharing: Your uploaded media is never sold, shared, or used to train AI models without explicit consent.

Device Permissions (Mobile App)

Our iOS app may request the following permissions to support AI generation features:

  • Camera: To let you capture a photo or video directly for use in a generation task. Camera access is only activated when you choose to take new media and is not used passively.
  • Photo Library (Read): To let you select existing photos or videos from your device for a generation task.
  • Photo Library (Write): To save generated results to your camera roll when you tap "Save".

All permissions are optional and can be revoked at any time in your device Settings. Revoking a permission only disables the corresponding feature; other app functions continue to work.

How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To perform AI generation tasks you initiate
  • To process purchases and manage your credit balance
  • To send service-related notifications (task completion, account security)
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • To improve our platform based on aggregated, anonymized usage analytics

Third-Party Services

We work with the following third-party providers. Each has its own privacy policy:

  • Stripe: Payment processing for web subscriptions and credit purchases. Stripe Privacy Policy
  • Apple (Sign-In with Apple / App Store): Authentication and in-app purchase management on iOS. Apple provides us with your name and email only on first sign-in. Apple Privacy Policy
  • RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management for the iOS app. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
  • Supabase: Cloud database and file storage hosting our user data. Data is stored on servers in the United States. Supabase Privacy Policy
  • Replicate, Inc.: Third-party AI model API provider (United States) that processes your uploaded images and videos to generate the requested output. Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, processed in-memory, and deleted from Replicate's systems within minutes after the task completes. Replicate Privacy Policy

Third-Party AI Processing (Replicate, Inc.)

Why we share with a third party: The face swap and AI generation features in iMideo rely on machine learning models hosted by Replicate, Inc., an AI infrastructure provider based in the United States. We do not run these models ourselves.

What is shared: Only the media you upload for a generation task — i.e., the face photo and the target image or video. We do not share your name, email, account ID, IP address, payment information, location, or any other identifier with Replicate.

Replicate's data practices: Per Replicate's published privacy practices and Data Processing Agreement, your media is not retained beyond what is required to deliver the result, is not used to train Replicate's AI models, and is not shared with any other third party. We rely on Replicate's published commitments; for the most current terms, please refer directly to Replicate.

Your consent: Before the first AI generation task, the iMideo app displays an in-app consent sheet titled "AI Processing & Data Sharing" that explains exactly what is sent and to whom. You must tap "I Consent to Sharing My Photo with Replicate" before any media leaves your device for AI processing.

Revoking consent: You can revoke this consent at any time from Profile → Revoke AI Processing Consent inside the iOS app. Once revoked, the app will request fresh consent the next time you use an AI feature. Revoking consent does not affect previously generated results stored in your account.

Data Retention

  • Uploaded source files (images/videos): Deleted within 24 hours of task completion.
  • Generated results: Retained based on your active plan; removed when your account is permanently deleted (30 days after deactivation).
  • Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
  • Usage & billing records: Retained for up to 3 years for legal and accounting compliance.

Children's Privacy

The iMideo website is intended for users 18 years of age or older. The iMideo iOS app is rated 4+ on the App Store and provides a limited set of family-friendly AI features; users under 18 may use the iOS app but shall not access the website or any mature features. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@imideo.io and we will promptly delete that information.

Data Security

All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We use industry-standard security measures including access controls, encryption at rest, and regular security reviews to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

Your Legal Rights

Under applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request erasure of your personal data (right to be forgotten)
  • Object to or restrict processing of your personal data
  • Request a portable copy of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time

You can delete your account via the iMideo website (Account Settings → Delete Account) or the iOS app (Profile → Delete My Account). Your account will be deactivated immediately and permanently deleted after 30 days. During the 30-day grace period, you may recover your account and all associated data (credits, subscription, generated content) by signing in again (OAuth users) or by signing up again with the same email (email/password users). After 30 days, deletion is irreversible.
